Towards the island’s northeastern corner lies Merchia Beach on Mykonos. For those who want to experience Mykonos from a different angle, this beach in a little harbor is a great choice. Get away from the crazy crowds that flock to the Cycladic Island for its nonstop celebrations and enjoy some peace instead.
A little stretch of sandy beach dotted with stones and azure waters defines Merchia Beach. A small number of charming cottages, the majority of which belong to fishermen, and sparse vegetation surround the beach. While we do not have sunbeds or umbrellas on site, there are salt cedars that could provide shade on hot summer days if you forget to bring your own. Furthermore, it is advised to bring food and water due to the location’s isolation, as there are no nearby eateries, pubs, or snack shops. Merchia is well worth the effort, but getting there can be a bit of a challenge due to the need to cross a gravel road.
